Today I have a super simple homemade ornament idea that I can share with you, a little inspired by our mother. If you don’t know, our mother is an abstract painter. Her workshop is filled with canvases, paints, brushes, and paint splashed walls and floors. When I saw these mini art easels online, I thought they would make adorable Christmas tree decorations, which also reminded me of my mom.
These mini art easel ornaments would be a great project to do, like a craft night with friends, or to do with kiddos to keep or gift to grandmas (or those crazy aunts in your life :). If you like painting, you can be absolutely super detailed with your mini artwork or you can play and just do something that matches the colors of your tree. Ha.
Mini Art Easels
– Mini screens
– Acrylic or watercolor paints
– super glue
– colored ribbon or yarn
You can also cover the canvas with other things like paper collage or other mixed media. Since it will be a holiday ornament, could I suggest sequins? Ha.
Step One: paint your mini canvas and let it dry completely. That’s the fun part-enjoy it!
Step two: glue the artwork to the mini easel.
Step Three: add ribbon or wire to hang them on a tree. I thought the rolled up ribbon would add that slightly more festive feel, but you could use a number of different materials to hang them.
You see, they are so simple. The hardest part is the funniest part-creating the artwork on the canvas. Thank you for sharing me! xo. Emma
